Hardy Native tall, stately Biennial, usually of rough grassland, wasteland and roadsides; with dense tall spikes of yellow flowers on tall stems above large, very bold, downy foliage in June to August.

Very attractive to Butterflies, Moths and Flies; food plant of the very striking caterpillars of the Mullein Moth.
