Tall Hardy Native Herbaceous Perennial, usually of grassland, verges and roadsides; with dense heads of bright yellow button like flowers on tall, leafy stems above feathery foliage in July to September.

Used herbally to expel intestinal parasites and aid digestion, the flowers were also used to repel ants, and sailors would use a sprig of tansy to repel mosquitos. It is also a dye plant, giving a pale golden yeloow dye
